When the "simple mastectomy" was decided (due to the margins coming back positive) I really didn't know if I had the mental capacity to deal with it. It takes courage to square your shoulders and get yourself through this, so yeah, I agree with your mom.

You sound so much stronger than a few weeks ago. I was so scared because you sounded so scared and hopeless and I know how powerful the mind can be in healing the body. I was ready to get on a plane and go to you so I could just keep telling you you're going to be okay until you believe it.
So I just do it in facebook messages instead :)

I'm assuming the chemo will start soon. I have a procedure next week to insert the port (where the chemo will be injected). I will have that port until the treatment is over.
