My mind is kind of boggling that you underlined the Bible (not meant to be insulting or anything!). It's just I've met many people who've read the Bible, and who study the Bible as part of their religion, or who say it's their favorite book because it's expected of them, but very few people who would actually say they LOVE it, especially in a random internet meme with no expectations attached. And...I'm a little curious.

Someone read you LOTR? That must have taken forever! How old were you?

Adored Secret Garden.

Haha, I'm not insulted. The Bible can be hard to get into, and so much of it is used out of context for so many terrible causes that it gets a pretty bad rap sometimes. But there's a lot to love about it. You hear a lot of "thou shalt nots" thrown around, but the Bible's pretty realistic about humans. You've got murder, incest, drunkenness, and treachery--and that's just Genesis. Others deal with anger, doubt, depression, love, the list goes on.... A lot of times, it's surprisingly different from the stereotypes (Jesus wasn't a big fan of organized religion), and the idea that I don't have to be perfect because it's been done already is awfully freeing ( ... )

Yes, it's mostly the stereotypes and taking out of context that really throws me. If I hear one more person quote that women should be submissive to their husbands I will not be held accountable for my actions. And I always figured that Jesus would be the kinda guy to walk into bars and talk to people trying to drown their problems away, maybe break up an occasional bar-fight. I don't like it when people try to sissy-fy him, because yes, hello, son of God and all, but he was also a carpenter back before there were power tools. I'm thinking he could have pounded people's faces in if he'd really wanted to. I'm sure he didn't clear the temple by asking them politely to leave ( ... )

asjkdfl I was like, "I know this is a really long reply, but I still feel like I'm forgetting something." And then I found out my work hadn't been keeping track of my hours and was iffy on paying me, so I hit "post" and went to deal with that. I will definitely meme you (and reply to everything) when I get back from work! So sorry!!

I know we don't know each other all that well, but I'm always made intensely curious by these association memes.

Sure thing!

a) You had fun ideas and we had mutual friends. =D
b) Atomic pink hair. Because of Gwen. Who I still have to draw.
c) You have really cool ideas. =D Also, if you like e. e. cummings, you MUST be cool.
d) Franz Ferdinand. So awesome.
e) How did you meet transephera? I know you guys know each other, but I don't know any backstory.

(Bahahahaha, I don't use this icon ENOUGH. I should be ashamed!)

b.) no pressure on drawing Gwen! I know how these things are.

c.) I'm glad you think my ideas are fun! And not only do I like him, but he's my absolute favorite! It disappoints me disproportionately that DGM takes place in the 19th century, because it means that practically ALL of my really particular favorite things are invalidated by the timeline for Gwen. Except for the hair. ♥ One of the reasons I made that her base color is because I once had punky atomic pink spikes a few years ago. It was the first time I actually bleached my hair, but not the last.

d.) transephera and I once serenaded an entire Starbucks full of people with our A Capella rendition of "Do You Want To." Massive fun ( ... )

(I dunno, if you used it too much, the internet might die of Cross Awesome Overload. *officious nod*)

b) I keep meaning to--she's such a fun character!

c) Granted, DGM doesn't always observe the timeline restrictions it should for the 19th century. XD Atomic pink is spiffy.

d) That is win and awesome.

e) Haha, cool! That's a pretty neat way to start off a friendship--let alone one that works so well. XD It's hard to find people you can actually LIVE with day in and day out and get along with. Oh man, Saiyuki--there's a nostalgia trip! I loved Sanzo dearly.

Coolness. I'm not on AIM much, but I will hopefully catch you some time. I don't like posting my sn on public entries, but transephera might have it. If she doesn't, I shall devise some other way of getting it to you. =D
