After watching Streets of Fire last night, we decided we had to watch another "musical" movie, and chose Shake, Rattle, and Rock with a young Renee Zellweger. It's a made-for-TV movie about conservative parents and dance show on TV (hosted by Howie Mandel), a lot like Hairspray. John Doe of the band X plays Renee's motorcycle-riding love interest,
