This was great...I don't ever usually read this pairing but you wrote Asuma especially well, he was completely in-character. I like how you described the building tension between them.
The way you portrayed the teacher/student here was really believable; I can totally see Ino coming onto her sensei, LOL. Good job! :)
Thank you for reading it, and for leaving such a sweet comment. I have always wanted to write for Asuma--I'm sort of fascinated by that generation of ninja, and I obviously have a thing for student/teacher relationships. :3
UNF. I click the link to this fic out of sheer curiosity, wondering if there was any way to do this pairing without it being wildly out of character or creepy as hell or both, but I am pleased to say that this surpassed all my expectations! Hot, hot, hot; beautifully written and graciously in-character. Excellent job!
Oh goodness, thank you so much for your kind words. *blush* The scene played out very clearly and honestly in my mind, it was just a matter of putting it into coherent words. I have a thing for teacher/student (obviously, oh god), and the believability can go south fairly quickly, so I'm glad I could stay afloat, in your eyes.
Asuma's always seemed like one of the wisest jounin of his age group to me. Of course being a Sarutobi I like to think he has the gravity of his family, but also the ability to make that mistake every now and then. Your depiction of him was spot on and gently woven, in the unmasking of his flaw by Ino.
Ino's character has fascinated me; I've felt that too many people have played up her brashness, making her out to be more bark than bite, and on the vapid side, always overly concerned about her looks. We've seen her grow,in canon, into a beautifully smart kunoichi. This is the part you chose to play up. It's dangerous to be near a Yamanaka when they want something; they'll get it. Yet her come-on to Asuma was beautifully honest and real.
Very nice word joust and tension. I thoroughly enjoyed this.
I personally am not really drawn to this pairing, but for some reason, I was really struck by the prompt and immediately began to formulate some kind of plausible story between them. I love both the characters and I think they're both strong and have resolve in their own ways. Thanks so much for reading!
As you know, this isn't my fandom, but I wanted to read this fic since it's the first thing you've posted in a while (SINCE YAH MOVE), and you've been talking about it.
I can't comment on the characterization, but as always, the writing was beautiful. "Her words were tinted with innocence, but coated in dark color." In addition to many others.
I look forward to the other stuff you're working on too. <3 But just wanted to stop by and give your latest a read.
Oh goodness, I wasn't sure what to expect at reading this but it was so well written (as usual!) that I found to have quite loved it. You definitely explore the Ino I feel that we should be seeing at this point and gosh, I don't know what else to say. lol ♥
Oh, puff, thank you so much. *blush* I've been rusty with my writing, so it makes my heart warm that I'm not so bad after my mini writing hiatus. I have so many things to write and so many ideas, and I'm glad I got this one out of my system--I've been trying to get to it for about a year now, lol.
