Mentally Ill? No, an Injustice

The city of Xintai in China is under fire for forcing at least 18 petitioners since 2006 into mental asylums and injecting them with drugs for up to twenty day stays at the Xintai Mental Health Hospital.

The petitioners had been complaining to Bejing authorities of Xintai land disputes, police brutality and other grievances. Instead of investigating ( Read more... )

That is awful :(

In the '70s a lot of people were abducted, tortured and killed here because of what you can call "their beliefs". People haven't even found their bodies yet.
Lots of women were pregnant at the time and the kids are now missing. They were sold to other couples and the parents of those women are still looking for them.

I know this isn't exactly the same as what you've posted, but I think it shows what a goverment can do :/
