Character's Name: Hiwatari Kai.
Series: Bakuten Shoot Beyblade.
Timeline: Post series.
Canon Resource Link: Regular Wikipedia entry.
Personality: First off, Kai hates you. Yes, you. Even you who did no wrong to him. Even that guy in the business suit. And the chicken who appeared as a cameo. But, seriously, Kai is a very introverted person who would rather not open up about his feelings or thoughts to strangers or even those who have known him for years. He is very much a lone wolf by preferring to work alone without relying on others' strength. He's quiet, aloof, and very moody. Despite him sacrificing nearly everything he had to destroy BEGA and the influence it had over the Beyblade world, he prefers to remain alone.

Yet, this doesn't mean that Kai's all piss and vinegar. If someone annoys or aggravates him, he's not afraid to use his sarcasm to insult others and he also uses it playfully with his teammates. If someone were to harm the people he cares about (ex: his teammates), he would make sure to make them pay. Kai also has a strong sense of honor and perfectionism due to all the years he was told to be the best there ever was. He is also deeply passionate about Beyblading. If anyone insults the sport he cares so much about, he'll show them that spinning tops can do a lot more than simply provide entertainment.

To someone who Kai feels comfortable around, he actually carries a lot of wisdom about a broad range of topics from Beyblading to teamwork. He also has a soft spot for animals, since during G-Revolution, he was taking care of stray cats and dogs while wandering in alleyways. All in all, Kai has a few layers to his personality, but it's with these layers that made him into the person he is today - strong, confident, determined, aloof and still grumpy.

What your character can offer: As a former street punk, Kai knows how to survive in a city, otherwise known as street smarts. He also is quite strong and is very flexible as he is shown, in canon, dodging automatic blade launchers as well as lasers to get to his destination. He's even scaled walls before. To go back to his strength, he always carries weights in his scarf and can toss it like it's a feather. It has been shown to break concrete, destroy rock, and knock over and take out a speaker. He also has the expertise needed to lead a team or a group to victory.

What items will they be bringing with them? The clothes on his back, his scarf with the weights in it, a wallet with pictures and money in it, about two weeks worth of blue face paint, and his bit-beast Suzaku.

Third-Person Sample: It was the day of another Blading match, and Kai was taking some time to prepare by being alone on top of a roof that was near the tournament's location with his arms crossed over his chest and his eyes closed as the wind whipped around. He took his blade out of his pocket and stared at his bit-beast, the ends of his scarf dancing around as the gentle breeze went by. After a while, he turned his heel and walked back downstairs and to the tournament hall. He was greeted by many fans who cheered his name, and like always, there were a few who wanted him to fail, but he paid them no mind.

Still clenching his blade in his hand, he walked into the preparation room. He was sure of himself, sure that he would win the match to continue on to reach the finals. He glanced at the top in his hand and stared directly at the bit-beast in the middle. "I know you won't fail me, Suzaku." He muttered to himself.

Almost as if the vermilion bird was in the room with him, he could feel her agreeing with him.

"Hiwatari Kai, you're up for your match," a tournament worker announced.

Kai nodded his head in agreement and put his blade away in his pocket until it was time to use it. He walked down the hallway until he got to the entrance into the ring. His violet eyes closed while he cleared his mind of any unnecessary thoughts as a means to win. Soon enough, the doors opened in a grand flourish and the sounds of cheers were instantly heard as Kai moved from where he was which he started to move from the position he was in to meet his opponent.

Despite the cold exterior he had, there was something about the excitement and passion that drove even this lone wolf out of his shell to actually put in the heart and effort to win, to strive for excellence, and to enjoy the moment. His violet eyes opened and he got a good look at his opponent. Who he was matched up against was a perky, red-haired teenager and all Kai could do was smirk. He knew that this kid was hardly a match for him, but instead of getting cocky, which led to the downfall of many Bladers, he kept his thoughts focused on the upcoming match.

He walked up the stairs to the bowl and took out his blade launcher as well as his blade, then prepared them.

"Prepare to lose, Hiwatari!" the boy jeered.

"Hmph, I know I won't lose against someone like you," Kai confidently replied.

"You'll be eating those words!" the boy huffed.

"You wish," the dual-hair colored teen replied and after the announcer gave the call to start the match, the two of them launched their blades into the bowl.

Here was where Kai felt free to express himself and show everyone a different side of him. His passion, his drive... he put nearly everything into this sport and that's what made him a great Blader.

"Go Suzaku!"

First-Person Sample: [there's the sound of a grunt followed by some grumbling]

...Hunh. This is an absolutely amazing place for me to wake up in. Ruins as far as the eye can see... I can't imagine that many people live in this dump, either. If they do, good luck to them.

--So. The note said "use this." Tch, what use will this be to me? Although, on the slim possibility that someone's here... I'd like to know just why and how I was brought to this godforsaken city without my knowledge.

I wonder if Kinomiya and the others were brought here as well. Knowing their luck, they probably weren't. [sound of a sigh escaping]

... I assume that no one would be able to answer this question, either, but it's worth a shot. When I woke up here, I noticed that something was out of the ordinary. ...Something other than the destruction and mess around here, too. Suzaku was out of her blade.

Is there an explanation for this or is it just a natural occurrence in this weird city?

I suppose the myth about a vermilion bird is true. They really do rise up from the ashes...
