So apparently a bar isn't a proper place for an employee to have a lip ring. The owner saw it a few days ago and sent this memo out stressing there are no lip rings allowed. i had a labret piercing for a few months and then got a job where i had to take it out for each shift. i never needed a retainer, it's wierd. i havent worn the lip ring in 2 years and the hole is still there, it depends on the person i guess?

but yeah, taking it out every shift becomes a pain in the ass.

i imagine it will be a pain, but its only a part time job so a few nights a week won't be too bad. i think at first i'll wear something just in case, but that would be great to just be able to take it out.

i've never tried this, but when i got mine, they told me i could just put a small piece of plastic string (like a fish wire) and it should be ok.

And it works fine. Even a thick plastic line... Just try to avoid using things you find on the ground.
