Character Design 1 - Alexias
So I figured that I might as well start posting what I have here. XD Non-spoiler character information coming up! ♥ Here is character design numero uno! And of course, it's the main character~ :3 He's hot! Or at least he's supposed to be.
Name: Alexias Valient Ride

Hobbies: Reading, tennis
Likes: privacy, good music, black coffee

Background: Alexias Valient Ride, the son of two extremely prestigious people, grew up under a lot of pressure. His father, a professor of Chemistry at Cambridge University, and his mother, a famous model and fashion designer, pushed him to excellence in both academics and in the arts. Thus, he's developed a rather reserved, faked personality. True to his parents expectations, he's been an extremely good student, excels in many different areas, and acts the part of a good young gentleman. Currently a sophomore at Yale university studying engineering, he's already been in several magazines as a model, has recieved awards for his skill at the piano, is a tournament-level tennis player, and is one of the more popular guys in his school. His polite and kind personality, as well as his handsome features (the typical blonde-haired, blue-eyed pretty-boy look) do not help to dimish the number of girls with a crush on him. (Needless to say, many of his male classmates are envious of him.) His parents are very, very, very proud of him; what more could they wish from their kid?
However, all of this is nothing but a mask. In actuality, he has little to no interest in engineering, and wishes to pursue a career in writing. Modeling is nothing but a chore to him; he'd much rather design the clothes. Tennis, he thinks, is a boring sport; he really wants to learn rock-climbing or martial arts. A pity that these things are all things that his parents consider too "unorthodox" and thus not "good enough for him." Thus, he's learned to conform to whatever image society expects him to have, forcing on a polite smile and a soft chuckle when he really wants to point and laugh, and saying "Good evening" and politely bowing to his ladyfriends when, really, all he wants is to ask them if they want to go watch "Night of the Zombie Jesus Revival" with him. He's currently just hoping that someday something will pop up that will break the monotony and tedious life he's leading and allow him a pathway to a more interesting future.
Trivia:
•He's stated that his favorite food is black coffee; in actuality, he really likes strawberries and whipped cream. Sadly, his mother says that that will ruin his potential as a model and forbids him from eating them, and his father says that that's a mere child's snack, not a proper food. He has to get them on the sly when he can.
•He likes a broad range of music: classic, rock, punk, trance, ska, alternative, disco, even pop (to his eternal shame and embarresment, there's actually a Backstreet Boys song on his iPod). He says that his favorite musicians are Beethoven and Sting, but it's actually Hit the Lights, Darude, and Nujabes
•His guilty pleasure is reading comic books, both American comics and manga. He buys them with his pocket money and hides his hobby from his parents.
•He's allergic to llamas and petunias.
•Despite his reluctance to pursue science, he's quite good at it, and is actually pretty smart. He has an IQ of 132, and has almost photographic short-term memory. On the flip side, he is horrible at memorizing names and faces, and has almost no sense of direction.
•He has a habit of ruffling his hair when he's frustrated or confused. This is why his hair's usually a bit messy, but his fangirls assume it's an "artfully mussed" hairstyle, much to his convenience.
