Days in the library, and not a fucking thing. Great stories, fabulous mysteries, but a single book on how the hell we got here? Noooooo.

Looks like we got some new residents, though. Hi new folks. Welcome to Crazytown.

I need coffee.

The library doesn't have anything? Ah, hello to you as well.

It's got books, just not the kind that would help anyone get out of here. Hi. I'm Anita. New here?

There might be other sources of information somewhere, hopefully.

Mm, that's right. I'm Allen, it's nice to meet you Anita.

That might be because they can't stretch out 'paranormal abductions' to fit into a whole book.

That's why the good Lord invented the index, appendix, and table of contents. Hell, I've read a fair share of them cover to cover. Still zilch, though. Say...you're America, aren't you?

Yes, I am! The one and only, of course!

Sorta be a waste of whoever's time, wouldn't it? Bringin' us here and then tellin' us how to get out. Less we're like those rats in a maze and the point is to watch us get out.

The way this place works, I wouldn't be surprised. It wouldn't be the first nonsensical thing about the mansion.

I don't think I know you. I'm Anita. Anita Blake.

I could have saved you the trouble and told you that the library's a bust. Where do you think I spend most of my time?

It's a place to spend the time, Sam. It's not like I've got anything better to do, except maybe practice my aim. I'm not used to being so....useless. Besides, another pair of eyes doesn't hurt, and we haven't really talked a lot lately.

There are plenty of better things to do that don't involve guns. Books and friends are generally a good start, so long as the books are more entertaining than educational and the friends won't go on and on about the Apocalypse. Does that sound like something that fits the bill?

You offering to hang out, or was that, y'know, a generalization?
