Packing something you know you won't open until you're living in Australia.

That's weird.

Yeah, Michael's PhD advisor got a job at the University of Queensland in Brisbane and invited him to come with. He (the advisor) is already down there and we're moving into their house (that's on the market) in Dunwoody until we go in the winter.

Weird

so, you making sure all the soft stuff goes on the bottom?

Because when you get to Australia everything will be upside down.

[such packing is always strange, I still carry with me the feeling when we packed, and i was but a child, to come back to Australia to England. Packing away clothes, which you would not see for three odd months.

Wondering if indeed you would ever see them, as the trunk or crate might be lost on the docks never to be seen again.

It is not the same as placing winter clothes in a cupboard, or hanging up dry cleaning. It is as if these clothes carry a different air, a different world. And you know as you pack them, that you just don't know how you will feel, who you might be, when again you open them, and unpack them.

That is totally weird. I can't imagine how odd and beyond reality it must feel. I feel like I'm going to miss you on this side of the world!!! Even though it won't change anything in the way we correspond... silly, huh? What an adventure!
