[A young woman's voice, soft and hesitant, is heard over the journals. The rustling of the leaves in the background are sign enough that she is currently in the forest.]
Something must be terribly wrong. I... I shouldn't be here. I... should still be where I was last. It isn't possible... but I can't deny that it has happened.... Um, e-excuse

Perhaps I should ask where I am first.

[Written down is one simple vertical line.]

Ah, then... where am I? [And because she has more than ten questions to spare at this point:] Are you the one responsible for bringing me here?

Thank you... I do apologize for any trouble it may be. But how did I arrive here and for what purpose?

There is no way to tell how we actually ended up here. The only acceptable explanation is that... we've all been kidnapped. And the second part... [She doesn't like telling the New Feathers this sort of thing. Stella hesitates, but then speaks again.] For experimentation.

Experimentation... How could they subject others to something like that? Who are the ones behind this, and what do they wish to gain from the experiments?

Also, I think I'm currently going mad.
[Jack doesn't seem to have the hang of speaking through the journal yet. He's rather shouty, though he doesn't need to be.]

Going mad, sir? Is it from being here or a different cause?

Being here isn't helping, but let's not delve into the measure of my mind so early in our acquaintanceship. Now I've heard tell that the moss grows on the north side of trees. So if you keep the moss at your back, you'll eventually get much further north of wherever in deepest Hades you are at present. Savvy?
Trust the moss. Trust it.

... I know what I would be moving away from, but what would I be heading toward?

Welcome to Luceti for the time being. When you look past the forceful kidnapping and widespread experimentation it's not too bad.

Widespread experimentation? Is that... what the wings are for?

[With a clap of her hands.]
Yep, the wings, the bar code on the back of your neck-- Oh, you'll need a mirror to see that yourself unless you've got eyes in the back of your head. [...she could.] The wings themselves don't do much, more of an eyesore.
The important thing to know about them is that the loss of both wings equals instant death.

[Iris touched the back of her neck for a brief moment, now knowing why her neck had been sore earlier. Wings were strange enough, and the idea of a barcode wasn't a very happy thought either.]
I shall take a look at the barcode in a mirror when I can, and remember to protect my wings. [Just hearing herself say the last part about owning wings was... weird.] Everyone has wings and a barcode, I assume?

Oh, yes. Thank you. It would seem that no one arrived here voluntarily... I would have to assume that there is no feasible way of leaving?
