Well, I do love to hate her, I guess.

But she's also a living trainwreck. The stupidity of the world so brutally in my face, and she's rich on top of it all. Stupid rich people are both scary and annoying. She could make a difference if she wanted to, but instead she doesn't even understand why SHE should have to pay for anything. She's famous, famous people don't have to pay, right? We should all be happy to serve the rich and famous, right?

The not paying for something when you can afford it is an anomaly of the western culture in general. 'The rich get richer' as the saying goes.

I happened to catch the last few minutes of 'the simple life' the other day - don't have a clue which series or anything but Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton seemed too stupid. I kept thinking 'this has to be staged - no human being can be this ridiculous!'

The reason (I think) people are fascinated by her is - she is not phenomenally gifted in anyway (much like myself - ie: not supermodel material and I can't sing to save my life) and yet (like I said) she won the lottery and she didn't even buy a ticket. While I trudge off to work each day, she does whatever the hell she wants. It may be shallow and superficial but it would be nice :-).
