Alistair found he looked forward to the days hey trained. The sword in his hand was the most natural feeling thing in the world, which probably said much about him. Regardless of how weird it was, he at least was able to avoid getting rusty. Sarah laughed, sheepish but pleased as she set her sword down and sat back on the sand. It was tiring, but in the best possible way, the exhaustion of exertion and work well done. "You'll get there," he assured. Far faster than him, most likely. It took him years to really get decent at it. Ducking her head, Sarah smiled. "Well, it doesn't hurt," she said, "that I have an amazing teacher. I don't think I'd get it half so well otherwise." It wasn't entirely a lie either. "We were expected to be adept in all forms of sword combat. I actually didn't practice as much with this sort of sword, but I worked on it a few years, at least," he explained. The thought pattern was to be as prepared as possible. Sometimes the only weapon available might be one of these.
