...don't suppose you brought any apples or anything? I forgot.

I'm afraid I didn't bring any with me today. Perhaps some fresh hay from the stables would be sufficient?

[Luke happens to walk by, towing a crate of horseshoes in a wagon.]

Huh? Haven't seen you around the stables before.

[Turns in Luke's direction. She'll probably never get used to seeing him do any kind of physical labor besides his training - it's too strange.]

I only started coming here at all about a week ago. Someone mentioned the animals, so I thought it might be worth investigating.

Are those for the horses?

Yeah, the blacksmith makes shoes for the horses. So I'm here delivering them.

What do animals need with shoes in the first place, I wonder. Shouldn't their hooves protect their feet naturally?
