This was one of my favourites. :) You caught their voices very well and I loved that you used David - so many people use Mica and forget about him. I really wanted to know what the note said, though.

I did originally start writing Mica, then had the exact same thought you did XD.

my grandfather died when i was 8 and all my life he had parkinson's disease so i didn't really know him - but i knew him through stories and other peoples memories

I was really touched by your story. For me- it felt a little like you were talking about the fandom that I miss so much. Does that make sense? Nothing's been the same since Ianto died. I can try to explain to new fans what it was like- but they kind of had to be there. I'm probably overanalyzing.

I don't read a lot of Torchwood pieces anymore. I'm glad that I gave this one a shot.

HOLY CRAP YOU MAKE ME MISS TORCHWOOD FANDOM SO MUCH!

Remember when it was all a happy-clappy world, where if you didn't ship the same as somebody else that was okay, or if you didn't like the same episodes as somebody else that was fine, and if you disliked a Certain Character you weren't made to feel like you were less of a human being because of it ...

None of this pointing the finger of blame at the slightest negativity, nobody trolling one set of fans because you don't agree with them - no Torchwood writers kicking off at the slightest mention at The Death They Let Happen then going on and on and on about it on their Twitter feed for days ... None of this OMG YOU'RE NOT A TRUE FAN BECAUSE OF THIS ... WELL *YOU'RE* NOT A TRUE FAN BECAUSE OF *THAT*...

*sigh* Is it any wonder I have hardly any inspiration to write any more?

PS- for all of those reasons and more is why I'm hanging out with The Vampire Diaries. It's a new fandom, doesn't seem to be overly crazy, and the characters are sexy-good-times. :)

It was nice seeing this from David's POV. I loved seeing his relationship with Jack change too. The last sentence was just perfect! *clings to Ianto being alive and AUs... COE? What COE? :P*
