I must confess that as a part of motivating the students, I ordered the Latin translation of the first novel. It improves Ms. Rowling's prose while retaining her estimable ability to keep up suspense. It seems to work, too; following the adventure of Harrius is easier for teenagers than working one's way through Cicero at his most egomaniac

Leaving aside the fact that green and silver are decidedly not my colours, I don't think the diagnosis is that wrong. The Gryffindorian percentage does amuse.
