Hello LiveJournal. I'm still in Utah for the next 5 hours, at which point we will, God willing, catch a ride down to the airport, and finally leave the land of the Mormons. I love coming up here every winter, but I think I would have collapsed if I had to ski for another day ( Read more... )

Hah, if you'd posted this yesterday, I would have typed my reply on the same computer as you've posted about. I was staying with a friend who has one. It's a lovely little machine :) The portability is a big plus.

Professors pimp their books because they get royalties off them - or they do in the UK at least. It's happened to me and it's a pain. One of ours had co-written a piece on educational software and advertised it at the end of every class we ever had with him X_x On the other hand, another one of our lecturers is in a folk-rock band (which is pretty cool) and we only found out about it by accident last year ^^

No- it's from a webcomic called Toothpaste for Dinner, I think. I don't frequent it myself, but this comic was linked to me by a friend.
