So, I saw the saddest thing ever this weekend. Me and Casey were walking around the Lewison mall wasting time before dinner and we stopped at the pet store. First of all, it's sad enough to see all these cute animal in 1 cubic inch cages, but then we went to go look at the love birds. There were three of them in this cage. What if the other one wasn't bought -- but actually died? I remember once, Danny, Ian and I were in a pet store just hanging out, and we opened this freezer located on the side of the store, and it was full of dead birds. No joke, they keep them frozen and then send them back to the company or something for a refund.

Maybe the love-bird's lover died? Wouldn't that be even more tragic and romantic?

Aw. I guess I didn't even considered the possibility. I just assumed some jerk bought the bird. But would be horribly sad. And me and Jamie were talking and I guess some birds, I forget which, commit suicide when they don't have their partner :-( some kind of dove I think. Either way, it was the most depressing thing ever to watch this bird have an anxiety attack of sorts...

that's why i'm glad i work in a good pet store. we refuse to sell if we feel the customer will use the animal for food (read: small rodent fed to a large reptile) or that they will simply make unfit owners.

as tragic as it might be, i prefer willie's story. the lone lovebird simply wanted to be with his love, be it in life or in death.
