Woah woah woah, what was the tiny snap sound?

My classy 'phat' DS has broken on the hinge. Otherwise completely functional.

The wrap of the hinge at the top half snapped off, showing the black core that it wraps around.

This is the shift that happens when holding the DS from the back. There's no load bearing on the one side anymore, so it will do this while open and closed.
The larger center hinges are where the wiring for the top screen go through, if enough time is spent with the hinge broken they will get too much friction and quit working. There may have been damage already, but for now I'm trying not to mess with it.

I do not have the financial option to get a new DS, nor do I really feel so inclined. I really really REALLY want that neon blue DSi, but it wouldn't have any backwards compatibility with the GBA games. As a Pokénerd, I can't do this. Well, I suppose if I borrowed friends' DSs it's possible, but there's only transfers of six every 24 hours and it's not nice to hold systems away that long.

So I'm gonna go the option of replacing the shell. This is the one I'm looking at. If people know about this site and have yay-or-nay that would be good to hear. Also unsure of if it comes with a tri-wing screwdriver, which is needed. (Thought about getting a special-awesome shell with art on it or something, but it looks like people only did that for the DSLite onwards.)

Same color of the DSi I want, so that's a big plus.

Kudos to a handheld surviving this long. I'm not the best known for tending well to my electronics, especially portable. (I am a destroyer of watches, I swear...) This DS was bought well within the first couple months of release, so it was five solid years of being played.
