Mmmmmm....................House. I've watched only two shows religiously in my lifetime, and House has earned that all-important, coveted #2 slot so beloved by all those advertisers and Hollywood policymakers ignoring my interests (well, #1 was Buffy). Mom likes the show because, wonky medicine aside, it gives her the opportunity to think about something besides pediatrics. She is very pleased when she gets a diagnosis right before the end of the show, but I'm enormously proud of myself for beating her to a diagnosis the week of the Plague episode. I have never forgotten Professor Powers' disbelief that his wretched students could not have been aware of the scourge of plague in the American Southwest among prairie dogs. "What do you mean, you don't know? Indian kids run up to pet 'em and get bitten, and then they turn up at the hospital with bubonic plague. You're all useless!" Ironically anticipating a line that also turned up in House. :o)
