i saw the documentary on the guy's journey to establish this day. "peace one day". a beautiful idea for a day.
also, i called your house tonight from powell's bookstore in portland. when i think about you i get a warm streak across my heart, like it's wearing a wool sweater. i miss you.
i'll be living on patterson right by the bike path with a woman who has two kids in college, is a dental hygenist, has two big, dumb dogs, a fenced in garden for me to share.... dinner parties. cooking, talking, water drinking, juice drinking, wine drinking, foreign film watching fun.
i just talked to my friend who was in a resteraunt in minniapolis. he just watched a piece of theatre that was a reading, cover to cover, of the great gatsby. he's returning tomorrow for the second half. i can't wait to live in that city.
i'm going to periodically give you produce when you live in my town.
mmmm, please do! i watched that documentary too, how strange the way things turn out, the UN passing the new day on sept 11, 2001. is patterson in goleta, isla vista, or santa barbara? ima soup up the ol bike asap, then we can terrorize the streets together!
when i think of terrorizing, or "tearing it up", i can picture you. patterson is in goleta. it's near where you can pick apples and feed them to horses. however, i did this recently, and it resulted in the horses hating me. i don't know what went wrong. downstairs in this portland house a cute biker man and his arts and crafts loving girlfriend are "playing music" together. she sings beautifully and arpegiates the guitar sort of melodic-hauntingly while he throws in those building, droning, drums. i'd be happy to live with some artists some day. also, he works at a library, and so he has high status in my mind.
i write a lot when i'm traveling. why is it so hard to succeed in making every day life have the same spirit as traveling? you probably can answer this question insightfully.
