that SUCKS, but the important thing is that you're OK. i'd say go for diminished value (as you told me to) and get yourself another car if they decide to fix this one, because i'm learning that mine is NEVER going to be the same after being rear-ended. one thing i thought of, though, is that maybe you should buy a new car in arizona, because registration costs can be EXCESSIVE on a brand new vehicle brought in from out-of-state. at least that's how CA was.

AZ doesn't have the weird restrictions like CA does. I just looked it up to verify. Just the normal title and registration stuff (smog test results, title, etc....)

oh ok. colorado wasn't too bad either -- they have a formula that takes the MSRP of your car when it was new and figures in the age of the vehicle, etc, and mine ended up costing $288. i just remember having to pay $993 in california because my vehicle was less than 6 months old, so that's why i always tell everyone to be careful.

Yah, CA has the extra crazy emissions stuff on new vehicles, so they make you pay to bring a different one in, because they're bastards.

AZ uses a formula too, it's like the normal reg. fees in CA, $300-500 for a newer vehicle. Some base of the MSRP, with depreciation each year after.

Sucks to hear. Why does it always seem to happen to new cars. I got screwed when I got hit. The other guy didn't have insurance, so it was my rates that were extra high for the next few years.

Wow... I'm so glad you're ok!!! In the end that's really all that matters. Keep an eye on your health for a while. Head injuries can be sneaky like that...if you feel light-headed or dizzy, get it checked out ASAP.

BIG HUGS

Good lord what is the world coming to?! I agree with your friend above - go out and get a new car! I say you slap on a neckbrace and 'upgrade' to a Benz. But that's just me. ;)

Just kidding - the important thing here which another of your friends echoed is that YOU are okay. After all - cars are a LOT more easily replaced than you are!!!
