my identity was stolen this weekend.
some scumbag spent over $1500 using my checking account buying wal mart gift cards, and red bull.
now i'm over $1000.00 overdrafted, and the bank said it could take weeks to get this taken care of.
i'm so angry ...

ugh! sorry to hear that.
if it's of any comfort, someone stole my american express credit card info while i was visiting california and charged porn, prepaid cell phone minutes, and a few other things. it's a pain and i felt paranoid about identity theft for a long time.
hopefully you can get this resolved soon.

At first I was really jealous. I was like "wow - I wish I had $1500 in my checking account".

I'm just kidding. Good luck - document EVERYTHING. Every service rep at the bank you talk to, dates, times, etc.

Man that sucks! It's such a hassle cleaning up the mess people make when they steal your info!

I too have been affected; last year I had to have my bank card replaced after someone online stole my info and used to to buy a bunch of computer hardware in Utah.
