My own efforts this year are small, but on Monday I am getting a dozen prime burr oak sprouts to be planted later on my farm in West Virginia, they were going to be used for a photo shoot and got left over. Supposedly first rate stock, too. They tend to grow to become the largest oaks and produce lots of mast for the wild turkey, deer and bear. But they only grow one foot a year.
That sounds like a MOST excellent idea. I'm off most mornings as usual. We're going to the Northcountry for an Appleseed on Friday night, so mid-day then is my cutoff.
