Here it is going on 5 AM in Brussels and I am still awake. So I might as well write a LJ update. It seems like I rarely have time to write in this journal. I suppose that is not entirely true. More like I rarely take the time to write. One can always make time if the mood really strikes. Besides, I really have been busy. Aside from the month or so

Congrats on the new home. I long for a large ranch as age creeps up! I am sure you will love one level. I love the diddly bops over the windows. Can't think of what those are called. Triangle shaped things, with cedar? Looks like cedar, maybe, do they have cedar siding in FL? Or is it copper? They do the copper a lot up here.

Yes, it is cedar on both gables. The ceiling in the back covered patio is also cedar plank. I think there are three ceiling fans attached. It will be so nice to sit out there and enjoy the pool and the forest view in back. The cedar gables, along with the staked stone and stucco kind of gives the place a sot of lodge look. I really liked that. And yes, given my walking problems the one-story home will really be nice.

your house is absolutely gorgeous. i wish i had a better grasp on your life ~ i feel as if there's so much i've missed out on, and every now and then i'll learn something new and think, "wow." i'm very, very happy for you and rick ~ may your new home be filled with love and many memories-in-the-making.

Thanks Richard. Sometimes I wish I had a better grasp on my life as well. lol Work and just plain old living is always a challenge.

Perhaps I missed it in a previous post, but what brand/model are the kitchen appliances?

I don't know the model but the double ovens and the six-burner stove are all Thermidor. I can't remember what brand they selected for the paneled fridge, microwave, dishwasher or wine cooler. For several more photos check out the second, later LJ update I posted
