Lorne left the office and then it was just Cordelia and I. We stood in there a minute or so until I suggested taking her around the office so she could be able to find her way around better. "So.. what do you think so far?"

My eyes looked around the place. Wow, This place was amazing. Sure it was just an office building but with my comaness, Anything at this moment in time was amazing.

"Its big. Bigger than what I expected."

I smiled when my eyes reached Angel. "I dont see your son anywhere, So What happened while I was in Slumber land?" I placed my hands on my hips as I leaned against a wall.

"I want the truth this time."

I nodded. "I think it's a little too big..haven't really gotten used to its size yet." I lifted my face and looked around the building. Sighing a little, I reached out to touch the button for the elevator.

"I dont see your son anywhere, So What happened while I was in Slumber land?"

My finger paused just before it pressed the button and I started at the arrow that pointed up for a moment. I knew from the way she'd acted in the office that she knew something about what happened. I almost hoped that she knew everything, so then I wouldn't really have to tell her.

"I want the truth this time."I lowered my arm back to my side and turned to face her. Was this exactly the place to be telling her what happened? It certainly wasn't the place in front of Lorne when he was with us in the office, but out in the middle of the building? The elevator might be bugged, but it wasn't like the Senior Partners didn't know everything about me anyway. I lifted my hand again and pressed the button for the elevator ( ... )

"The truth? The truth is that Connor isn't here. And if he ever walked through those doors it would be because he'd need a lawyer, not a father."

Entering the elevator, I looked over at Angel. Maybe I should have waited to talk about Connor. I knew it was still bugging him on how things ended.

"Connor doesn't know who I am. No one does. Except you. I agreed to take this job because he was going to kill himself, Cordy,.. and you. I didn't know what else to do. If something had happened to either one of you and there was something I could have done about it..I couldn't have done that."A small smile came across my face. "So you became the CEO of Wolfram Hart to protect your son and myself." You had to admit, that in some weird way that it was a very nice gesture. "Yes." I nodded and looked at her. She was smiling, which I thought was a little strange considering the circumstances. But hey, if she was smiling because of all this then that was better than her telling me I'd sold my soul to hell. Which I probably had by signing that Wolfram and Hart contract.

"In some weird way, It was good thing. Because after what happened last year, I would want my memories erase too. But I understand, You did what you thought was good for your family."

The fact that she was alright with all of this did more than just suprise me. Staring at her for a moment, I tried to figure out exactly what was going on. Something was different and it wasn't just the fact that she'd come out of her coma and was standing here with me.

"Yeah.. that's what I keep trying to tell myself. But it doesn't seem to want to listen."

Sighing, I looked up at the numbers and watched them stop. A bell dinged and the elevator doors opened.
