I've been barely using LJ anyway as it is for especially the past year because I don't want to contribute even my words to SUP. I also feel like I've definitely gotten my money's worth out of my perm.acct, but I got it WAY back in one of the first rounds of selling them ever. I know it's prolly a little weird to be political about social networks, but then I deleted my Myspace when Murdoch took over, so it's par for my course. Leaving out the whiny fandom element, I really do like a lot of DW's stated values and goals, and I'm willing to give them a chance. SUP has burned up pretty much all the good will I could muster for them. :(
I'm thinking about it. The real problem is that I feel like I need a good unified location for my presence, and I'm not a huge fan of all the current options - I want a location that I own, not one that's likely to implode overnight.
Unfortunately, I also want one with good network effects. It turns out the two are, at the moment, pretty mutually exclusive.
Yeah, I totally hear you there. I'm still going to have a "proper blog" and personal journal on my own domain, but as anthologie pointed out to me, there's also a place and a use for a social network blog with protection levels for sharing certain things, and I DO honestly miss that aspect since I've been on LJ-break. Also you can cross-post and cross-share from DW to LJ, see comments above.
I used to care about when I thought I had something to say. Now I don't. *shrugs* I have nothing to say to the rest of the world in this format anymore that a kajillion other chain smoking blue monkeys have not alread said, are not already saying now, or will be saying in the future. I keep all of it to myself in a Tiddlywiki instead. Even THAT has sparse entries. I mouth off over at Facebook, but I don't even try to pretend I have something of substance to say to people over the internet anymore.

Will your DW have an RSS feed, because I'll read it then. Otherwise, not so much no picking up yet another thing.
