I'm a terrible person.

I was making banana and chocolate chip muffins. I turned my back and saw the Cream licking the batter. I'm pretty sure that she didn't chew on any of the chocolate chips because I didn't see her jaw working like when she is trying to chew something. I feel like such an asshole and I really really hope that she doesn't die.

Oh no! Don't worry bb, I am pretty sure she would have had to eat more than just a chocolate chip or two to get sick. I have read they need to eat a fair amount in order for it to be lethal, like an ounce per pound of body weight, which I'm sure you didn't even use that much in the whole recipe. <3

Thank you very much. I think that she will be ok. You are too kind.

I'm almost certain that Creamy Goodness will be okay. Mr. Pie, Jr., Esq. told me so.

No, I wouldn't worry; even if she ate a chocolate chip, it would be diluted by the other contents of her stomach. Plus, that's a good reason to always have water freely available for your cat.

Last winter, my dog managed to drag down a can of pure cocoa powder from the counter and ate half of what was in the can; it wasn't a full can. I estimate he got about 1/4 to 1/2 cup of pure cocoa, and he was bouncing off the walls. I fed him a couple of slices of plain bread, got his papers together, and we rushed to the emergency vet.

If she also didn't show symptoms of hyperactivity, it's highly unlikely she got anything. I now have a cat who used to be a street cat, and I have to be very careful she doesn't have access to chocolate-or onions or grapes-because she'd definitely try them. I've got my fingers crossed for your cat.

She seems quite fine now. Thank you for your concern.
