Another thing, if you plan on actually taking photographs, you will need to know something about photography, mainly exposure and composition and focus, depending upon the equipment you will be using.
That means using actual film, most likely, and probably antique cameras, or reproductions thereof.
I'd research how this all goes before you do anything as it may, or may not be to your liking.
I have a basic concept of photography and composition, so I'm not quite as "green" as it might initially appear. That being said, working with metal plate exposure (not film) using collodions is a completely different world than film development. I have been researching it for quite a while, but still feel I need more of a grasp before I make any leap.

Not realizing that. Good to know.
In this case, it may well be something to explore, especially if you've done film development in the past and want to branch out and grow.
