So a couple of weeks ago, my town was hit with -15ºF weather, much like a good portion of the continent. I can at least say that at least I don't live in Manitoba, where it was -33ºF, or something of the sort

"I want you to call a taxi for me and pay for it, preferably out of the driver's paycheck."
Failing that, the driver needs a written warning, and notice that a repeat offense is grounds for firing. If, in addition, the bus company wanted to comp you a bus pass equivalent in cost to the taxi fare, that would be a nice gesture that would probably eliminate any urge you had to file a discrimination lawsuit...
Although, actually -- it might be worth calling them up now, *before* you get passed by, and asking nicely if they could please remind the drivers on your route to make certain that they're not driving past any passengers, because the weather is really nasty and a couple weeks ago this happened and you nearly got frostbite and it really sucked...

To strand someone like that, in this kind of weather- it was 3 degrees here last night- is inhuman.
