What do you think of the Dalit?

The same that I think of Russians, retired women, stampcollectors, engineers and nudists - nothing specific. They are just another group of people.

What do you think of their persecution and the oppresion that they are recieving in India right now? I'm just curious about the generel concensus of everyday Indiands toward this severely oppresed group of people. Are there other non caste observing Indians who are trying to help these people. is there a denial among Indians? basically what I want to know is what the hell is going on?

It is fairly complicated for me to be able to explain in a few words. If the issue occupies a fair amount of your thoughts, I invite you to India to check out the situation yourself. It is about the same as the situation of blacks in the USA, except that the government in India is MUCH more conscious about their upliftment.

India's last prime minister was a Dalit and the chief ministers in some states are Dalit. Compare that with whatever geopolitical entity you belong to and the state of the oppressed minority in your nook of the woods.
