First of all, we want to announce that the Media Action Network for Asian Americans has spoken out publicly against the casting of The Last Airbender. They've posted an open letter to the producers on their site, offering to help Paramount Pictures steer this project in the right direction. From that letter:

I arrived at the protest around 2pm and I was able to take a couple photos (only 2). There were about 5 other people when I arrived (the first photo) and here is a pic of me (the second photo).

This is sort of unrelated to the post -- I'm just curious if anyone has heard anything about what Mike & Brian think of this whole thing?

And YAY for MANAA!!! I'm ecstatic.
Bummer that 100 people didn't show up to the protest though.

That's freaking awesome!!!! There's no way they can ignore this now! And you know what the best part is? They haven't stared filming, or moving the cast (of EPICFAIL)out to the filming locations, so there's still a chance that they can re-cast the four leads! *suppresses urge to do a one person wave since I'm in the computer lab at school*
