Why the worlds still turns when I'm not standing straight

My computer crashed. And I have lost everything I had.

There was a power outage on Saturday afternoon (around half past one). Funny thing is - a friend was sleeping over that night and we watched three movies in a row on the computer. I shut it down, and on Sunday I try to turn it on. Nothing. System missing, blah, blah, blah.

I think I have invented ( Read more... )

Oh God, that is horrible! I can't imagine what I would do if my computer crashed and I lost everything. (Luckily I'm paranoid and have copies of important pics and stuff saved on my photobucket acount. But not the music.) That happened one time with my cousin's computer. The hard drive just broke. It made this godawful noise and then just froze up. That's when the dreaded blue screen popped up and we knew we were in trouble.

I know.. I actually screamed myself silly and cried from misery. I lost all my pictures I have done for the university exams, and the CD I copied them all onto gave me that Error notice every time I tried to open it. I thought I was having a heart attack, I swear.

Luckily though, there is my darling dA where I have all of my pictures. Luckily. As far as the music is concerned - I too have all my music on cd's, because I mostly copy off all of it from them on the hard disk, but still.. I can't live without music, and my stereo hasn't been working for ages, so the computer is only source of music.. T_T Now I have to copy everything. Again. Darn.

But still.. I'm dreading that my memory card has gone to heaven because I have been getting that 'blue' screen quite often now, always telling me that I have to fix my physical memory. I don't have the slightest idea what that is.. So, I'm a bit afraid. As it seems, I'll either have to buy a new comp, or completely redo this hard drive.... Again - T_T

Yeah, I'm just now copying things onto backup disks. Which is stupid since I've had this computer for four or more years.

Well if you do decide to get a new computer, Dell is having some pretty decent sales. I just bought a laptop. (we're giving my old computer to my cousin) And my aunt just bought a computer for $600.

Actually it worked out in the end. My back-up data kicked in and I got everything back. So happy right now. Still my monitor is blowing off (got that yellowish discoloration thing going on). Luckily it's a thing that can be easily fixed.

Carrying it off to a servis tomorrow.
