I'm sure I've mentioned in here, the strange and thus far unexplained 'attacks' I get on occasion which start with a sense of pressure on the bridge of my nose, and then seem to turn up my sense of touch and pressure so that even the simplest movements feel strange. Well, I seem to have found a fool-proof trigger: colouring books. I got one for one ( Read more... )

This is very very strange and I don't believe I've ever heard you mention it before. I wish I had some advice, but I can't even begin to imagine why coloring would cause any kind of attack or what the attacks are exactly or why sniffing tea would help. I recently experienced my first migraine with the flashing lights, however, and now realize that the body simply does not make sense.

It is strange. But since it doesn't effect my life very much, and only happens occasionally (as I said, I just think of it as an annoyance) I've never really looked into it too much. And since it usually happens when I'm alone, I don't usually think to tell anyone about it. I think the relationship to the colouring has to do with concentrating on the pressure I'm applying with the coloured pencils. After a little while it feels like I'm gripping the pencil really hard, I'm pushing down with it on the paper really hard, and any other type of pressure I focus on (the pressure of my hand on a glass as I pick it up, even the pressure my tongue is exerting on the inside of my mouth) feels exaggerated. As for the tea, I have never tried smelling something before, I don't know why I thought of it, but I think it worked because it forced me to focus on something outside of body ( ... )
