Lots of stuff has happened.

Got into Portland on the 23rd. Spent Christmas with my parents. My mom and dad gave Kurt his own stocking, since he is part of the family now. That made me very happy. =)

On Christmas, after opening presents, Kurt and I went downtown and wandered around. We saw the smallest park (it's just one tiny tree) - it even had a very tiny nativity (the figures were only an inch tall).

We went out the next day to see the Japanese garden and the Chinese garden. I liked both, but I think I prefer the Japanese garden because it is more outdoorsy.

On the 29th, I showed Kurt my grandpa's old neighborhood. It was very pretty, as there was a little snow on the ground. There were kids sliding down the hill at Overlook Park. We ate a fabulous lunch at a little Vietnamese restaurant on Interstate (An's Cafe, for anyone interested).

That night we met up with Chris to pick up Jen at the airport. Then all four of us went to Seattle. We didn't get there until 3 am, and went straight to sleep. I only got a couple hours of sleep that night between having trouble falling asleep and then being woken up when others got up at 7am.

The party was excellent. Played a lot of games, chatted with people. Went to the science center. The butterfly house at the science center was very cool, but I think, if it was up to me, I wouldn't have something like that open to the public. Many of the butterflies seemed quite damaged and, despite being given instructions at the door (don't touch the butterflies, be careful where you walk), I still saw dead ones on the ground and one woman picking up the insects by their wings!

After the Seattle party, some of us headed down to Marcy's parent's house. We stayed up late playing Dal Muti. It can be a very fun game, but I must admit that I was a bit cranky by the end. Jen and I had been in the bottom two slots for the entire time, except for maybe 1 game. I think that if I have control over the next game I play, I'll have people mix up the roles every once in a while so no one has to be last all the time.

Now we are back in Portland. It snowed more the night before we got here. It was supposed to snow last night but it decided not to. It has been unusually cold, though I have enjoyed having a little bit of snow.

I saw a friend from high school yesterday - Diana. We went to a movie: Big Fish (it was really pretty and good and moving), then we had sushi, then we came home to play some Munchkin, which Kurt had just bought.

After that, Kurt and I stayed up late playing a game of boggle. He was ahead of me for most of it but at the end I got "shoveled" (and all the words contained therein) and kicked his butt.

On Tuesday we head back to Tucson.
