hahaha, love, ian mckellan would argue otherwise. he tried to push the homosexual undertones in tolkien's books [because homosexual undertones lie EVERYWHERE when multiple men are involved. ie; football field] in the movies. i forget where i read/saw it.

I know there are a lot of undertones in the books but I don't think I'd call this an undertone. . .

Plus, the characters seem totally off to me. It just doesn't seems to be something they'd do.
