(backdated to December 25th) Christmastime with Freddy

Anita may have been the only one who wasn't looking forward to the holidays. It wasn't exactly that she was unhappy, or even that she disliked them in general, but the truth was she was thinking about things that she would have rather left in the past ( Read more... )

Freddy had it all worked out. At least, he'd been running it all down like somekind of mantra in his head for the past week. That Murray guy had helped him get all the furnitre done except a bed, and why the hell hadn't they just done the bed first?, and it was all stuffed in his hut reminding him he didn't actually have any furniture either, and he was dressed, he had breakfast at his hut ready, but there was one little problem.

He'd kinda misplaced his girlfriend who was the key part of this whole arrangment.

He'd been to her hut and she was already gone. He'd checked the Compound, checked out her typical outdoor haunts, and seriously where could a chick be on Christmas? He was makign his way back around and coming up to the Compound when he finally saw her, and unable to help himself, his face split into a grin.

"Heeeeeey, I think I have a breakfast date with you, even if I didn't...actually...tell you. Anyway, yeah, I'm making you eat at my place. Surprise."

"Breakfast sounds good. Of course some warning might be useful, but hey I'm not going to turn down a nice surprise." She wasn't about to admit she was still sort of working out the whole gift thing. It wasn't her fault that she really didn't have that much of a selection, or probably wouldn't be sure what to get even if she did.

"Merry Christmas." She smiled. "And what is in this surprise breakfast?"

"It's breakfast, and it's a surprise. And there's another surprise with it, your present actually." He said somewhat sheepishly, his arm slipping around her waist as he leaned in for a quick kiss. "Merry Christmas."

"But yeah, I figured it was time I ditched the planned dates and started just springing them on you. Your less prepared that way and I can take advantage of your shock." That sounded kinda creepy, he'd better change the subject. "But, I have waffles. Kinda. They taste like waffles, but the shape is a little off just to warn you. More like...roffles. Retarded waffles. And some hashbrowns, but they might be a little cold cuz I've been looking for you forever, so let's go before animals tunnel into my place and eat it themselves."

She wondered what he had come up with. She certainly had to give him credit for somehow keeping her from even having a clue about what it might be.

"Take advantage of my shock? Now what could you possibly have in mind with that statement?" She smirked slightly as she leaned in a bit closer.

"So roffles? Well that doesn't sound too bad. I mean it doesn't matter what they look like as long as they taste good." Presentation was nice, but there were times when you couldn't exactly worry about it. She still thought they were pretty lucky to have what they did.
