Work of Art/Next Great Artist
Currently watching the show, and I'm going to write reactions to it here!
So far:
WOW this is a great idea! The artists are way more awesome than the commercials showed them to be. Reminds me of the art room...man I miss doing art already. Maybe I should paint something...
This is such a cool project idea! Capturing personality of a fellow artist within a piece. Awesome.
Is this the first episode? God I hope so. I'd hate to miss any of this.

Ohh...photo editing guy...man I wish I could do stuff like that.
Metaphorical girl...this could go so wrong or so right...patterns to represent a person as opposed to an actual figure...risky.
It's funny...they all kinda look like artists...

I like that they're all sort of helping each other out. It is like an art room.
Oop. Judging time.
Y'know, on first viewing of this idea of a show, I thought I'd have more snark about it, but it's AWESOME! High recommendations for any artist to view or those who appreciate art.

So all the judges are looking at things in completely different ways. This can't end well.
Boring. I'm sorry but that is just boring. Straight on piece that is not very emotional. Ick.
Oh....wow....thats' beautiful. Some of these artists are just...wow.
Also boring, but slightly less so.
This is set up basically like project runway. Alright, awesome.
Metaphorical portrait, I like it, but they do not really get it. Oh..but...defensive, yeah that is no good.
I think this lighting is just causing all of the art to look crappier and less contrasty than it actually is. Shame on you TV people.
So they don't appreciate the metaphorical, abstract, not literal stuff as much. If it's not an actual portrait in the portrait challenge, it is a no. Hmmm....
Baggy eyes guy is a win. I knew it!
AND WE WAIT FOR THE VERDICT.

Yep. Baggy eyes guy, absolute win. I don't feel like he did the best at portraying her but I do feel like he did a great job at creating art.
Yeah, that's what I suspected....abstract art girl failed. It just wasn't good enough.
