[Bodyswitch - Daniel]

There is a certain familiarity one develops with their own body over four centuries. A complete knowledge so constant that it is hardly conscious any longer. Needless to say, when he woke this morning, there was a definite wrongness. He need not open his eyes and brush away his needlessly long locks of hair to know that this was not his body. There was something unfamiliar about the voice, but it spoke French and the only one who ever shared a bed and spoke French to him was Alcuin. It was coming from the wrong direction - it sounded like the other side of the room - but Daniel didn't pay that any mind, just turning his head enough so he wasn't speaking into the pillow.

"Go back to sleep. It's too early."

'Early' was hardly the word he would use. This body was not as useful as his own in tracking time--and it was further throwing that he neither knew how long the body had slept, nor how long it had been since he had fallen asleep himself. However, his body was rested, and he doubted that it woke as early as his own.

"I will do no such thing." He spoke with force more out of deliberate English than vehement emotion. It was something he would have to get a grip on--along with the accent. "Where is this place?"

And that was not Alcuin. He sat up, yawning, and realized that he wasn't in his own bed. "Looks like the Compound." Mostly because it was the only building that wasn't built by hand. "Who're you?" There was something off, but he couldn't pinpoint it. Something about himself.

"Not the owner of this body, clearly." He offered the man a sour frown. Unless the man spoke French--which he highly doubted--his voice would be wasted on speaking it to him. It was easier to use English the calmer he was. "And you would be...?"
