canon!OOM: customers
Not long after Bishop gets back from tying up the bank sneak, two guys show up at the office. Carl really doesn't like the look of the older guy at all, but the one with the mustache is somewhat less creepy, and either way he doesn't make the call on who they take jobs from. So he lets them in and sets off to get Bishop, once they're settled in the waiting room.
When he gets back to the desks, nearly everyone else is debating something.
"We haven't paid the typist since January," Mother says, "so it's either me or Whistler." From that, Carl guesses it's about the official sneak report.
Crease snorts. "Better Whistler."
"Why not let Suzi do it?" Bishop says.
"Well--"
"We've got customers," Carl says, before Mother can really get going. Knowing the way things go, Suzi will end up typing the thing anyway.
"Shoes?"
"Expensive."
Bishop straightens his tie and heads for the waiting room. "Look busy, guys."
That part's easy enough, at least. Carl's got some finishing touches to put on Suzi's paperwork.
