Thank you for this! After watching the NCIS Christmas episode (which basically said emotional abuse from human fathers is okay, 'cause God the Father), I needed something charming and forgiving and magical.

I think it's great that the monsters all ate pictures rather than "real" things, 'cause then kids wouldn't be scared of having a monster for a friend -- not only not scared that the monster would eat them, but also not ever scared that them monster would ever go hungry. ...Besides, monsters live on our imaginations.

Oh, and the last time I checked the "share" link on YouTube, there was a specific code for LJ... (Silly LJ!)

Every time I used the specific code for LJ, the short code that indicates which video is to be played just disappeared when I saved it. Very odd!

I love the monster designs in that, especially the way they had the forest monster costume so that it was worn backwards to give the character digigrade knees and so on, but it must have been terrible for the poor actor to operate.

Indeed -- A very clever way to make the "human in a suit" look much less human. But/And I couldn't help but wonder at the actors' athleticism. Considering that the climatic scene was in a gymnasium, the thought occurred to me that the monsters might have all been professional acrobats.
