[[ooc; Blue is Ghanima. Black is Leto.]]
[ The video feed flicks on with little ado - no curses or crashing or large blurs of motion. There’s nothing besides a young teenage girl’s face - somewhere between 14 and 16 - with blond hair bobbing in a ponytail as she walks, the screen with it - blue eyes lit up with a very abnormal glow. For all

[Well, his face hasn't looked like that in about a decade and no he's the one with the tattoos. Abax hurts the mind and this is even before, 'things' might happen.]
This city has a very wicked sense of humor some times.
[Said in dry, carefully British tones.]
Yes, we all have been taken yet our captors have not found fit to show themselves directly.

[ There's a moment in which Ghanima is honestly shocked - not just that her brother's face is staring back at her (there are explanations for that), but the age on it. Age Leto will never reach. The realization of it is too sudden for her to stave it off for the moment. Instead, as she is a hard kind of person, her tone is terse. ]
Facedancer. And a cruel one.

Worse even than Burke.]
No ... no ... nononononononono
Sing a song of sixpence a pocket full of rye,
Four and twenty blackbirds baked in a pie.
When the pie was opened the birds began to sing,
Oh wasn't that a dainty dish to set before the...
[He recites the words quickly, face suddenly flush as sweat breaks out across his brow, grabbing at dark hair. Charles digs his hand into his pocket but comes up empty. He had purposefully left the knight on the night stand back at his rooms. Trying to be independent.
Picked the wrong day for that attempt.]

[After a long pause]
..I'm sorry, but, could'ja repeat that?
[This is accompanied by a flippant smirk, which reads very clearly 'holy Christ in a wood chipper, you guys talk a lot']
((OOC: Hi :Dd Just to let you know, Murphy's brother Connor will be tagging as well, and probably threadjacking a whole lot - since you forewarned us, seemed polite to do the same. May the chaos begin! ♥))

Well there goes an hour of my life I can't get back.

And how would you like us to return it?

[It's his face that catches Charles' eye, but he'd felt them before they ever spoke over the phones. It was difficult not to feel two people with such power in the city with him. It's rather alarming really, and he can't help but tighten his own mental barriers to the best of his abilities.]
Something tells me that both of you hardly need us to tell you much, you seem very capable of figuring things out without much help. All of us have been brought here, like you and we've yet to find out why.
... would it be rude of me to ask exactly who you are?
[It was strange to see his face, looking much more baby faced than he had in a while, on another person, much less someone who easily out powered him. Was this some sort of other universe version of himself? Like the other Charles here?]

I am Leto Atreides II. I was born on the planet Arrakis in the year 10209 A.G. Nearly twenty five thousand years have passed between your time and mine. They call your world Terra in our history books, but we know it as Earth.

[ Ghani pulls at his hand for a second, demanding his attention, because this is freaking her out a tad. ]
They are not facedancers. [ She knows this now. The first one shocked her, but the second exactly the same, in accent, disposition, tones, mannerism - all very characteristic of another person, not someone trying to make a replica. She wants answers, Leto. ]

[Colour this cranky Brit intrigued. He's used to exploring history - But as some people refuse to allow him to use the Animus, not so used to being history.]
So far as I'm aware, we're still in 'the year of our Lord'... even if the Lord himself may be indisposed. Perhaps you're more a fan of 'Common Era', then?

[ She gives the screen a coy kind of grin. ]
A fan of Common Era, though more familiar with After Guild. [ And she'll just blink innocently like Shaun should totally know what that is. ]

After Guild? Given that the disbandment of the guild system took place in the, oh... late eighteenth, early nineteenth century...
Unless, of course, you're including their modern relatives - Which really, have as much to do with ancient guilds as that family friend who you refer to as 'uncle.' There's been a few proper revivals in Europe, but even still... Their fall wouldn't be near influential enough to define an age.

All things cycle - dying once and returning later in their changed form. The same is of history.
Would you believe twenty-five thousands years from where you stand now in time the rise of a single Guild would define an age?
