[The video starts off simply as a recording of the inside of an electronics store in the square - starting with a view of the immediate outside it moves in to the register and an open laptop on the counter next to a bluetooth headset that's already half dismantled before turning and focusing on the masked face of Tali'Zorah. The icons are a lie: ( Read more... )

I can start on that map for you. I have most of what is accessible of the city memorized already. [He's an Assassin, he doesn't know how to sit still.]

Already? How much of the city is accessible right now? If you could start drawing a map of what you have, I could get it copied onto a computer and start filling in detail.... Maybe I could even work out some kind of positioning system if I could find the right... [Aaand she realises she's rambling and cuts herself off, laughing a little.] Sorry - yes, that would help a lot.

[It's obvious from his expression that he doesn't mind.]

Just the central area with the hospital we awoke in, the clock tower and the plaza, and the few shops and apartment buildings surrounding them. There is much more of the city to see but none of it accessible. I could not begin to fathom what is keeping us from exploring it either... it is very strange.

I will get started on that map right away. [He's had lots of practice in the past so it shouldn't take him too long either.]

[That noise you're probably hearing is the sound of Tali one-handedly typing notes onto the laptop. She uses MS Notepad. :B] That's not a very large area. What happens when you try to leave? Is there a barrier preventing you?

If you need supplies, I have some here. [She waves some paper in front of the video screen.] Thank you for this. It'll help a lot.

No, and that is the odd part of it. Is it more like... no matter which direction I go towards eventually I end up right back where I started. It is not that I am getting turned around by visual tricks either--I am well versed in detecting such, I assure you--but rather one moment I seem to make progress and the next I have simply not. I cannot detect one moment from the next but I am not falling unconscious either. [He shrugs.]

It is my pleasure. It is good to have something to do, and I am fond of the idea of working together rather than bumbling around as individuals. Though I will respect either choice.

I will have your map for you by tomorrow though I can make speculations into the immediate surrounding areas as well with more paper. Shall I say, I will meet you there tomorrow and go over it with you?

What kind of method could they possibly have of tricking people into walking in circles like that in a city? [Privately, she's considering brain chips, virtual reality simulations and more, but this doesn't seem to be someone from her own time, so for once she's not going to ramble on that topic aloud.]

I don't like the idea of fumbling in the dark on my own either - figuratively or literally. The more people can form into a group, the better, as far as I'm concerned.

That would be great - I'll meet you right here.

[She could rant at him all day and have an apt listener--he just simply wouldn't understand. And he would be asking all the questions. All of them.] It is a good question. I only wish I had an answer.

I am not in disagreement. It is good to band together, to help one another. Especially in times of need--in times and places like this.

Bene. See you then.

[He'll bring one of the maps from the tourist stand thingie, too, for comparison but his map will be detailed in a different sort of way and more useful for tactical purposes considering his profession. He'll also start in on drawing what he can see of the districts immediately viewable but inaccessible when he gets there.]

I just hope everyone else feels the same way you do.

[She nods.] I'll see you soon.

[She'll find absolutely anything he can offer helpful - that'll be more than enough for her to start working on a map for the phones... when she works hers out properly.]
