[ Galadriel stands before one of the walls within the office building the Elves call their camp, smoothing long fingers across the surface to carefully blend together colors she's spent several hours applying, having grown fed up with the blandness of the constricting walls around. If they couldn't have any growing things about them, then she would ( Read more... )

I've learned that. [ And she could be brave on occassion ]

Where do we get the answers from though? No one's giving them and no one here knows anything.

[ Kitty, someone wise once cautioned against going to elves for advice, for they say both yes and no. This is very true. Galadriel's attention seems to focus inward for a moment, her tone slightly distracted as she responds. ]

We cannot remain here in such great numbers, with such inquisitive minds, for long without aught taking place that shall advance our quest. It will not take too long, now. I can feel echoes of it in the air.

[ But you guys are wise ]

What sort of echoes? You're talking like you know something more.

[ Wise, but difficult to make sense of sometimes. Especially this one. ]

I have the gift of foresight, as much as it may seem akin a curse at times. Something is coming, but whether it be a thing of good or evil, I cannot say.

Oh.

What about the echoes? Can you hear it or is it just a feeling?

Feelings, mostly. Stirrings in the air, in the foundations of the earth; shadowed mists that close about what brief images I get, confusing and distorting. It is difficult to explain in simple terms as is, and things here are not as they are in Middle-earth. This soil is foreign, and so is its song.

Even if you can't explain it it sounds like you understand better than most here.

I have had a long time to learn and to unlearn, yet even I do not know all ends. But, we shall see, my child. While we await for whatever the city should spring upon us next, it is best for all to remain cautious.

I'm not sure if anyone's going to be just sitting around and enjoying it.

Does awaiting for something translate strictly to meek acceptance, then? Nay, it does not. However, as I can see no options for us to force this event upon us any sooner than is its course and I suspect we cannot stay its coming either, we are left with but the choice of waiting - waiting and preparing. We shan't be caught unawares.

Would forcing it be any better though? It's going to be bad either way.

Some would argue the importance of making the first move, I am certain. But no, I think you have the right of it. Based on what we have already seen, it is very likely that whatever follows next will be in a similar vein. We can only prepare ourselves how we can, and remain vigilant.

So maybe finding something to defend ourselves would be better? Keeping people together or... I don't really know.
