[There is a pause and then in a fairly calm tone, Charles says simply.]
I honestly did not think about it at the time, Erik. Our attention was elsewhere, which is no reason you should try to take responsibility for my wrist.
[He bites off the natural inclination to say 'my friend' at the end of that sentence. His expression a little bemused, wavering for a moment before slipping into something ... dark and then smoothing out to neutral.]
I ... yes, thank you for that. I am pleased I could be of assistance.

[Rinzler could really care less over whatever damage these users take. That image, though... catches his interest. He spends a good amount of time peering at the feed before finally entering a question.]
[Rinzler might rely on text nearly exclusively, but he's almost disappointed at the other's switch to match. It prevents him from further examination of the design.]
[Sorry, Rinzler he didn't even do it on purpose, just figured this was the way you wanted to converse.]
Ah, well I do have some diagrams of the tracks the trains run on and the train schedule and a couple things that caught my eye but then a lot of this is written text and commentary. Some of it relates to the diagrams, some of it doesn't.
[Hi Charles. It's your friendly neighborhood Mama Bear.] You need a wound debrided? If you can't find the nurse, get over to the Roadhouse. I can't promise it'll be a seamless job, but it's not the first time I've had to do something like that.
Next time you come find me. I've been patching up hunters since I was fifteen. It might not be pretty, but it'll keep you in one piece. [It's only a mild scolding, and she can't help but smile while delivering it. She likes Charles. He and River were welcome guests in the bar and she'd liked spending time with them.]
Roadhouse is as busy as ever. Harry and I.. we're good. Avoided the last little mess with those cuffs, thankfully.
[He likes Ellen, truly appreciated her generosity in sharing the food from the Roadhouse when he and River needed it and so she gets that rare, small smile form him and a nod of his head.]
I will certainly keep your offer in mind, thank you, Ellen. I am very glad to hear you and Harry were spared the cuffs, they were quite disturbing and I fear a number of people are still recovering from the psychological affects.
River is doing ... as well as can be expected, under the circumstances. I may try to coax her in to coming to see you and the Roadhouse.
[River had seemed to find the warmth and atmosphere of the Roadhouse comforting and Charles felt she could do with some comforting.]
You got hurt? [ The list of people who might be suspected is pretty narrow, after hearing what happened with Burke, but Abax has it's own tricks. ] How?
[Congratulations Burke, just the sound of your voice has Charles snapping the pencil in his hand as his hand spasms around it.]
Yes, well we all have our talents I suppose.
[Because he can't bring himself to lie and say that you didn't have a few skills, mainly because Charles recognizes that if he does protest, Burke will just enjoy it.]
Hello, Burke.
[What is the proper etiquette for talking to the abhorrent sociopath you let fuck you in a shower over a week ago? Charles missed that chapter in Miss Manners.]
Charles draws in a slow breath, forcing it out through his teeth along with the numbers 1 through 10 in Latin.]
I am certain you do not need my assistance for continued proper hygiene.
[He has to choose his words carefully. If he says what was on the tip of his tongue, anyone with reasonable hacker or just general creeper skills, will put two and two together. Charles is desperately attempting to save himself that level of humiliation.]

I'm sorry.
[For a lot of things. Not binding your wounds, for one.
For other things, too. It isn't a word he says often. But he means it when he does.]

[He's caught up in his notes and almost misses the two words, in fact he would have missed them entirely, were it not for the voice speaking them.
Glancing over towards the device, he's surprised to see there is no video, only voice. Cocking his head to the side, Charles arched an eyebrow.]
I ... can not think of any reason you owe me an apology, Erik?

I should have noticed the wrist and taken care of it when I saw you last.
I was--distracted.
[A sigh.]
And I didn't tell you--
--that I appreciated, talking to you.
Helping me with that memory.

Query. Diagram?

[Sorry Rinzler it takes him a little while to response because texting does not come naturally to him.]
Parts of it, yes.

[He sounds genuinely cheerful to be hearing from you Mama Bear.]
Thank you, for the offer, I believe I have this inconvenience sorted out. How are you and the Roadhouse doing?

Were you not affected by the cuffs this past week, Alex?
[Charles asks curiously. He's slowly learning that some people seem to have avoided the fate.]

Oh, the ones with the pink stuff? [ Aragorn and he got along decently enough, so little to no injury on his part. ] Who were you with?

I was cuffed to a being named Legion. Nice enough conglomerate of programs in a skeletal frame, though rather disconcerting when I first woke up.

[He's all teeth as he smiles for him. Don't believe him, Charles. He's a terrible doctor.]
Can't attest t'havin' any decent doctorin' abilities, but I'm good at many other things.
[This is perhaps a dig at their last 'meeting'.]
