GUYS, I HAVE SO MANY FEELINGS.

Here is my ~video response~ to talimeeka's questions. Not in costume because I was tired/lazy after the movie and only filmed this today, but I went as, uh, subtle Underwater Light Draco lolol aka Wellesley sweatshirt (a very Slytherin place, let's be honest!!), green jacket, lots of silver, and a mug of coffee. All tremble ( Read more... )

Hahaha, I love how your explanation of what you liked about DH II is the exact opposite of what I disliked it. However, you perfectly explained what I love about the HBP movie ( ... )

sdlfkj different strokes~

The Quill culture was so odd!! I mean, all fandom culture and hierarchy is pretty convoluted, but idk the Quill was like all that plus an extra dose of elitism? sldkj so odd, but ahh I wouldn't trade it for anything.

I KNOW. LIKE. WHY WERE THEY LOCKED AWAY... WHY WERE THE OTHER HOUSES NOT GIVEN THE OPTION TO HIDE.... DID THEY REALLY JUST EXPECT THE WHOLE SCHOOL TO RISK THEIR LIVES?? lskdj getting too worked up about this, but come on.

lolol oh Crabbe.

mcgonagall was too busy for that bullshit, abbey. better just lock all the slytherins in a closet and move on with things.

I still do wish, like, Blaise or Daphne Greengrass~~~ had ended up being a halfway decent Slytherin. But I've sort of reached a point of zen with that issue, so it didn't really bother me in the film.

dsljk if I ever meet Rowling in a dark alley I will cry at her about her treatment of Slytherins. It is just so sdlfkj contrary to THE ENTIRE THEME OF THE BOOKS. What happened to looking beyond labels, JK??? Why is ambition a bad thing? I mean, why is Dumbledore, who did a bunch of pretty shady shit in his quest for power or whatever, allowed to die a hero, when a bunch of scared kids are forever labeled cowards because they don't want people they care about to die for some speccy kid who made their lives hard? Aghhhhhh this wound cuts deep sdlfj.

I feel like I could predict your favorite movie is HBP based on the fact that it has birds and Draco Malfoy. :)

I really enjoy how we all were such social climbers at the Quill. There was a pretty significant time when all I wanted was for the professors to love me. a;sdlk

"sims one hair" crying. What a great description.

Oh, and apparently the reason they replaced Goyle with Blaise is that the actor who played Goyle got caught selling pot or something. So that wasn't actually, er, completely random creative decisions.

I loved everything about this video. <3 Can we have intense discussions about weirdly specific moments in the movie now?

ALL I NEED, BABY.

sdlj we were ambitious little nerds.

YES YES LET'S DISCUSS THINGS. HEY HOW ABOUT HOW THEY CUT OUT THE BIT WHERE HARRY MAKES THAT DEATH EATER HIDE IN GRINGOTTS.

OH MAN. I AM SO CONFLICTED ABOUT GRINGOTTS. Okay, I need your opinion on this, actually. Because I found it incredibly jarring how from the very beginning of the movie they were so... cavalier about the body count. I still can't decide if I thought it was a good choice or not. I found the random goblin deaths during the gringotts escape to be a bit too flippant for me, I think, especially when the trio basically laughed at the goblin getting torched. Like, Hermione would have been way up in arms about that, at least.

But I'm actually leaning towards really liking the part where Voldemort walks among all the dead goblins and there's so much blood on the floor. That was completely uncanon, right? Or am I forgetting things from the book. Either way, it was so shocking but I think in a way that really worked.
