It is! And an invited talk looks ridiculously awesome on a CV, which I was unaware of until today. :3

It looks amazingly fabulous, especially given that academically speaking you're on the younger side of things. Va va voom!

I am! Which is kind of insane. But I have really, really awesome mentors here, both of whom are quite famous in their fields.

:: huggles:: Hon, you totally don't fail at life. I couldn't do a fifth of what you do. I really couldn't. I couldn't deal with those kids. I couldn't make them respect me and do as I say, like you do. I seriously doubt I could spend a year abroad and do as well as you did (although we'll maybe be finding out soon...). Just because I'm givings talks and writing papers doesn't mean anything. I can't take a young kid and help him or her learn like you can. I can take a college student who already wants to learn and help them, but you're the one who can get that kid interested in learning in the first place. You, hon, make my job possible. You're even more important than I am. Don't sell yourself short. :: hugs::

And I'm proud of you. And you know what? My parents are proud of you. Hell, my grandparents are proud of you. :: hugs::

but but -flails- I don't even have the Certificate yet! I haven't even done the student teaching! I just..I have so far to go! You're already living your dreams! I'm just...managing to keep kids in line for about 7 hours a day.....

Your grandparents?! wait...they know what i'm doing? SINCE WHEN! I never talk to them, so you totally have to have been the one to tell them...

But I have really far to go too, hon. I'm not living my dreams yet, I'm just working my way towards them, just like you are. ...I will admit that my stepping stones towards my dreams seem a lot more fun than yours, but that's beside the point... And hon, that's not something to be ashamed of. There aren't a lot of people who could do what you're doing, and do it as well as you're doing. I'm serious there.

I told them. XD Grandpa was oblivious as ever and asked if you were a nurse yet. Better to say that Grandma was really proud of you for wanting to become a teacher. XD

<3 I'm just happy, I guess. Proud of myself... nah, because I always feel that I could be doing more, or doing better, really.
