I think of it more as a game of corner kitty to administer medicine.

I'm a bad bad addict of pattern recognition.

Beat it in 6 tries, though start position has a VERY real effect on results.

Yeah, as best I can figure you have to just play the odds and hope you can sway direction to something favorable. They seem to have modeled it after real life where there's no guarantee that you'll actually be able to corner the cat. The only strategy I've come across is to leave an opening and close it last minute.
