I know that it is totally bizarre to post Part 10 of this WIP on this lj without posting Parts 1-9. I am choosing to post it nevertheless. Those who have already read the earlier chapters may find it easier to access here

I love Helo too. I know some people (like my husband) find his endless thwarted-love-story tiresome, but I feel like Helo understands what it is to fight for your love 100%, and never give up, and still not turn your back on everything you are. Helo is *still* trusted by Adama - that has never wavered - and makes his love for Sharon totally clear. I really love his character for that, and wanted to imagine how Helo's experiences have given him great empathy for other people's heartbreak. In fact (spoiler for Part 11), the next bit will be another chapter from Helo's pov, at least partially.
Thanks for your feedback, I'm glad you're still reading!!!!
I LOVE this story! I wish canon had gone in this direction.
I was one of the poor lost souls who hadn't read Parts 1-9 before, so I had to go back and read them. Let me tell you, that was a hardship (NOT - except, umm, I have an oral argument tomorrow that I'm supposed to be preparing for).
I wish I could give more coherent feedback, but there's so many things to love: the fact that Lee thinks of her as the person he can never have, the fact that Kara asks him whether he doesn't think she felt the same way, the fact that Helo's the only person Lee can talk to and then that Helo's so awesome in the supporting role, the fact that Baltar thinks Lee is talking to Six (it is to laugh), the fact that GhostKara makes fun of Tigh's stupid plan, the fact that Lee finally gets that Papadama wouldn't leave him behind and wouldn't survive losing Lee, too.
Excellent! I'm glad you found it not-too-difficult to get caught up. I really enjoy your comments - reading what struck you the most so thank you so much, it's an amazing gift to me!! And I do intend to update pretty soon - as much as I love this universe, this version of L/K deserve resolution. Thank you very much for reading and leaving fb!!
His skin presses against hers everywhere, and he gathers her in his arms, holds her body as tightly against his as he can, willing her to melt into his embrace and to never escape.
After what Lee's been through, losing her and loving her ghost and losing that too, this feels so exactly right. That when Lee finally gets his hands on her again, he'd try to possess every inch of her and fuse her against his skin. And it's romantic as hell.
His dark thoughts are interrupted by Kara’s soft laughter. Against his chest, her laugh feels like a fluttering in his heart. “I can’t breathe,” she whispers against his chest.
I LOVE this paragraph. I love the way you describe things....her laugh feels like a fluttering in his heart, it's so poetic and soft and warm. And what Kara says is perfect. She doesn't panic that Lee is holding her so tightly; she just laughs and whispers against his skin. Perfect.
“Show you?” Lee repeats, like a dimwitted beggar in the presence of a goddess.Again, I love your

There’s one man among the villagers that Lee despises before he fully realizes why.
aaahh, jealous Lee. An emotion that Lee is well acquainted with.
These are the closest things to prayers Lee says now. He knows the gods and their ways well enough not to pray for himself any longer. They’ll never grant his desires, they never do. Not for good.We never get to think of Lee as religious, but this perspective Lee has about the gods seems very fitting

Martha, it wouldn't be overstating the case to say that I mainly write my fic in the hopes that you will read it, and share your thoughts about it. All that you say is so insightful about the characters

Denied his feelings? When? Kara has denied HER feelings many times, but the only time I remember Lee doing it was during "Home". That seemed to be because Kara started making fun of him. Lee has been open with her on several occasions and had it thrown back in his face. He has tried to be honest with her about how he feels, usually to his extreme detriment.
OMFG. *Flails* That was... that was... I'm incoherent. This chapter is just amazing. So much to love I don't know where to start.
The love scene is just bursting with emotion. I love happy, carefree Kara and Lee just makes my heart ache. And Kara asking him to stay? Just brilliant. God, I miss my ship.
I love the way you phrase things:
like a dimwitted beggar in the presence of a goddess.
Lee has always had a dozen different hearts, each one locked away inside the next, like a series of nesting wooden dolls. Treasure boxes within treasure boxes.
Lost in the fusion of his mouth and tongue with Kara’s, Lee lets go of what it is to be separate, alone, individual, a being unto himself. It's so typical of Lee that he doesn't realize why he hates Bryce at first. His possessiveness over Kara is so innate, so instinctual that he unconsciously resents anything that threatens it. The irony of him wishing for her back in anyway and then having her but not able to have her... *sigh* the agony

Thanks so much, kath!!! I love writing from inside Lee's head, b/c I think there's so much going on in there that even he is not aware of, and it is great to try to wade through all of that conflict, which he keeps so hidden. I think you are right on, about his innate, instinctual, unconscious possessiveness of Kara, it is something he cannot fight or stop. And it makes him choose her over everything (at least in this universe!!!).
I will try not to keep you waiting too much longer for the next bit. Thanks for reading!
