i'm precepting a senior nursing student at work right now. first time i've done that. i precept new hires regularly but this is the inaugural "teach 'em from scratch" project. i find i keep repeating this phrase to her:
"Be brave. You can do it!" *then pumps fist*
she may feel as though i'm a walking, talking motivational poster. something with a kitten up a tree, or a trout leaping gracefully from the water.
anywho, it seems to be working.

I've had nursing students for a shift or two, but since with my job I float around to different units, I've never been an official preceptor.
